Almetyevsk outside the Republic of Tatarstan is primarily known for the fact that the Druzhba oil pipeline, which delivers oil to Europe, starts from here and for hosting the headquarter of PJSC Tatneft. In fact, this is one of the rare resource-mining cities that demonstrates the strategical development of the urban environment as part of a social policy to improve the quality of life. The initiator of this policy is directly the main "resource producer" and the resident.

In 2018, Tatneft entered the TOP of leaders in the RSPP index in the field of sustainable development - Responsibility and Openness.

Guided by the goals, mentioned above, PJSC TATNEFT initiates and finances numerous events that improve the quality of citizens’ life. In particular, the significant transformations of the urban environment affected the location of the corporation's headquarters at the intersection of Lenin and Mardzhani Streets: in order to create the image of Russia's largest oil company, the buildings built in the early 1970s were reconstructed. Modern facade solutions with decorative prints on glass set the direction for reconstruction other objects forming together a new city space.

Its core, designed to unite buildings of various functional purposes, is a Public Center, which includes an informational and exhibitional space (museum), an interactive scientific and technical center, an additional education center, a multifunctional (transformable) concert hall for holding concerts, film, conferences and various social events. In these projects, Tatneft actively cooperates with the Moscow architectural studio Arcanika.
